Past Performance:
The Univ Players Present
The Way of the World by William Congreve
Tues 18th - Sat 22nd May 2010
All Old Members were invited to University College to experience the Players perform William Congreve's feisty comedy of wit, intrigue, disguise and deceit.
The Master's Garden played host to an entourage of hilarious characters. From the scheming Mr Fainall, who will stop at nothing to increase his fortune, to the garrulous Lady Wishfort, desperate for a toy boy; each character literally upstages the last with escalating vulgarity and sleaze.
The Way of the World's outrageous plotting and unrelenting banter will provoke merriment and disgust in equal measure. The audience were invited to immerse themselves in the decadent whims of the 18th century aristocracy whilst relaxing in the sunshine, sipping a cool drink and indulging in some well-deserved ice cream!
