The 1962 Appeal so far Those who matriculated in 1953, and in each year since, have commemorated the 50th anniversary of their time at Univ by organising a Golden reunion and launching a special appeal. This year, the Committee representing the 1962 cohort have decided to raise funds for a group of Student Support awards.
These awards will provide assistance to students facing hardship as a result of an unforeseen event, such as the unexpected loss of support from family. The assistance they provide is invaluable, often enabling students to complete their degree when they might have otherwise found it impossible to continue.
In launching this appeal we were very conscious that many of you have been contributing loyally to the College over the years and may well have many other charities to support. Those who matriculated in 1962 have already been among the most generous of Old Members, and all at Univ are very grateful. We do hope, however, that you will also mark the fiftieth anniversary of our matriculation with a special gift remembering with affection what your time at Univ meant to you.
Match Challenge Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous benefactor from the year group, every gift raised will be matched pound for pound (up to a value of £30,000).
